In the Government Gazette of July 11th page 634, a report is published referring under clause 18 to the Chinese passenger traffic at certain of the neighbouring outports.

I beg to forward you copies of the German regulations issued for the ports of Canton, Swatow, Kunchow and Chaochow in November, 1876 and on the 8th January 1881 supposing those being of similar regulation to be of some interest to you.

Similar regulations have been issued for the other Chinese ports.
